IMPORTANT UPDATES

Hi All,

I am nearly finished with our new setup.  You will have to access the message boards from either the main site or the link from our blog directory.  You can bookmark it when you go the first time so you have easy access afterwards.  It’s been in the making for 5 months now while I have been studying how to write the files in that language.  It looks pretty good as far as the layout and the control buttons on the message box.  We won’t have the buttons overlapping or squeezing together like they do here.  Also, the messages post the first time you hit the submit button!

I am in the stage of uploading the database (member information) and you won’t have to join any other group to get in like we’ve had to in the past.  I also integrated that into the main site for simplicity and it moves 90% faster than this does.  It also doesn’t crash every few days requiring me to do a lot of recovery work.  I will be so glad not to have to do that anymore.  I have had to recover this site nearly 100 times now and am getting really weary from doing that when I would rather focus my energy elsewhere on more important things than recovering errors and lost files.

So it’s pretty close to the next time you sign on and go to the home site that I have been working on for so long.  I don’t have the energy I used to have so it takes me a lot longer to do anything!  Sorry for the delay, I thought I could do it in a few weeks but I guessed wrong.  This has been our temporary haven and I popped this plug-in up when I saw that we were going to miss the move deadline so we would have message boards.

So watch for the update notice and then just change your bookmarks.  Your sign-in and password should transfer over but you can also request a password update and have it mailed to you in case something happens to them.  I will be able to see that the member names transfer over but passwords are private to you and those that have been changed from the default may not transfer.

Melanie… Jeanette, I will send you a note to your private email box very soon as I again want you to test it for me if you would.

Normalee is out of the hospital and at home with IV antibiotics.  She is very weak but I have talked to her yesterday and she is getting stronger. I am missing our daily phone calls and look forward to resuming them.  Hopefully she will be back soon ready to roar!

————————————————

I am working on a weekly newsletter for group members.  I now have the capability set up to do that on our regular boards and will be setting that up as soon as we get going there.  Then we will not be having these buttons not working and the frequent crashes!  Grrrr…… anybody else as frustrated as me?

Take care all,

Love, Summer

Hello my name is Summer, I am the founder and manager of this group. I am so very pleased to welcome you to the group. Normalee is the Co-Manager of the group and is very knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate.  Melissa and Ed are our Assistant Managers, and are true been blessings to both Normalee and myself.

It is an exciting day for us when we can open our hearts and arms in an embrace to a new member. On the left hand column, you will see the menu, please make yourself at home, and feel free to browse each of the different items. The General Message Board is where we post messages to other group members. There are managers’ mailboxes to post messages directly to the managers. Within a few days you too will have your own mailbox that Melissa will set up for you, so if you have a preference for colors or pictures or even a mailbox you would like, send a note to her mailbox so she can set it up for you.

The Specialty Boards, which have medical and newsworthy information are for your perusal. Please ask if you have any questions, either on the general message board or in the managers’ mailboxes. We usually hold regular chats and the schedule is listed on the chat pages, as well as special requested chats.  In January 2008 I suffered a home fire and my health has suffered badly from it so I am still in a recovery stage and not as active as I would like to be. Please post a ’shout’ on the General Board if you would like me to join you in the chat room, I can usually be available in a few minutes if I am home.  If you would like to schedule a one on one chat with me for a certain time please post me a note.  The normal time to wait for someone in chat to join you is about 30 minutes since we have to allow for dial-up connection speeds. You are always welcome to join the regular chats and that schedule is posted on the Chat page.  To enter the chat room you will need to register for your password through the Chat Room page.

Participation in chat is considered activity on the site for the rules guidelines for posting requirements. A quick ‘hello’, ‘how are you’ or ‘just checking in’ also constitutes participation. Should you come across information that you feel is pertinent, please submit it to mine or Normalee’s mailbox and we will see that it gets posted to the correct board.  We have  ‘Moderated Posting’ policy on our boards to eliminate any possibility of spam or member security infringement.  Your first few posts will be delayed in reaching the boards.  Once you sign the rules page and complete your introduction this delay will generally be lifted.

I know that this is a lot of information to digest right now but don’t worry if you don’t remember all of it, feel free to ask as many questions as you need anyone will help you, we don’t mind questions at all. I am glad you decided to come here.  We want your experience to be pleasant and helpful and to be friendly.  You are welcome to post as much as you wish and your feelings are respected. We are happy to welcome you to our family.
All messages are subject to removal from the boards if they do not meet site standards. When you applied for membership you automatically agreed to this via checking the accept box. Please read the Group Rules and Code of Conduct and sign the list (to sign this just make a comment on the Rules - Sign Here Page) within 48 hours of becoming a member. After you do that, I invite you to introduce yourself to us on the "Who Am I" board so we can get to know a bit more about you which will enable us to gear our information search to your needs. We are a very close group and most of us here are on a first name basis. Since you have been accepted you are not just a member of a "group" but part of our family! Each of us extend a very warm welcome you.

Again, it is an honor to have you a "Board"!

Welcome, "Lucy"!

Love, Summer!
